Beginning String Orchestra

This class is designed for homeschool students desiring to learn to play a string instrument alongside other students. No previous music or orchestra experience is required to join the beginning orchestra, but beginning students should be in 4th grade or above. Students will learn the fundamentals of reading music, playing an instrument and performing in a group setting.  All students will play a solo before the end of the year and will perform on at least two concerts. We will be using practice software (SmartMusic) that is similar to the challenge of a video game. It really is quite fun and educational!

Placement and Auditions

Please read the descriptions above carefully. If you are still uncertain about where your student should be placed, simply contact me. I will be glad to chat with you over the phone or meet with your student and have a brief audition and conversation to determine the appropriate group for them. It is my goal to place students within the group where they will best learn, grow and succeed.
